7 Habits of Successful People
Do you ever wonder how in the world some people just seem to have it all together? Like they know something that you don’t. Successful people don’t just have good luck. They have regular habits that give them the advantage to be successful. Below, we’ll discuss the 7 Habits of Successful People so you can mimic them to become a successful person yourself!
They get good sleep.
This is a big one. When you lack sleep on a consistent basis your mind is foggy and you’re unable to make clear decisions that help push you towards success. In fact, if you’re not getting enough sleep, you’re probably too distracted wondering when you can get some much-needed sleep.
They know their schedule every day.
They make a plan and know their schedule every day. This way you can be more productive as well. Use time blocking to block out times where you can get your best work done and focus on the tasks that lead to the success of your goals. Buckle down, get a planner and stop “winging it”.
They have morning routines.
They get up at the same time every morning and have the same routine. Whether that be working out, showering, making breakfast, getting kids ready, preparing for the day, etc. They do the same thing every morning so that it’s just second nature to them. It’s been shown that best time of day, creatively, for your brain is within the first two hours of waking up. Make sure you are utilizing that time well!
They create an action plan.
Mapping out your goals is the best way to make an action plan. Set your BIG and SCARY goal that will push you past your comfort zone and make the plan to get there. The best way to do this is to break down that goal into bite-size chunks. For example, if you know your goal is going to take a year to accomplish (or that’s when you want to reach it by) you need to figure out what you need to be doing on a monthly basis, then breaking that down to what you’ll need to do on a weekly basis. Next, break that down even further to figure out what you can do every day that will be an action step towards your goal. A consistent, bite-sized action plan will get you there!
They take care of themselves.
Have you ever rode a plane and the flight attendants tell you that if/or when the mask drops to help yourself first before helping others? Do you know why that is? It’s because if YOU can’t breathe, how do you expect to help someone else breathe.
So I’m going to repeat this so you get it, because I know there are a lot of people out there (especially moms) who just HAVE to take care of others first. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST! Eat right, get active, take breaks, get a massage, spend some time by yourself. Whatever you need to do to take care of yourself, DO IT! And DO IT NOW! Learn to say no, so you don’t over-commit yourself and leave ample time for you. You will find you are much more easily able to help others if you take care of yourself first.
They have strong relationships.
Successful people know that strong relationships are vital. You can’t do it all on your own. There are going to be plenty of things you don’t know how to do and will need help. Plus, you need someone to be a cheerleader, a coach, an accountability partner, someone to bounce good (and bad) ideas off of. Good relationships are the foundation of a successful person’s arsenal.
They pray, meditate or daydream.
Prayer, meditation and/or daydreaming can be very important for the success of your goals. It helps you to laser focus on exactly what it is you want and attracts that desire in kind. It clears your mind and if done right can be that positive energy you need to get through the tough parts. I get into this mindset by meditating and imagining myself having already completed my goal. If I can see my success in my mind’s eye, I’m way more likely to accomplish that success.
There you have it, The 7 Habits of Successful People. Now get out there and start to implement these habits so you can start achieving any goal you set your sights on.
